Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin continues to be extremely influential in the life and ministry of Andrew Hemstrought and the Metropolitan Holy Ghost Society.
Born in 1917 in Texas, he came into the world with a deformed heart and an incurable blood disease. In 1933 during his conversion experience, he reported dying three times, each time seeing hell's horrors, and then returning to life. In 1934 on his deathbed, he experienced miraculous healing. In 1936, he became a pastor.
After being baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1937, he started pastoring in Pentecostal churches. In 1949, he became an itinerant Bible teacher and evangelist. Over the next 14 years, Jesus appeared to Rev. Hagin eight times in visions, changing the course of his ministry.
In 1967, he began a regular radio ministry, Faith Seminar of the Air. A year later, he began publishing The Word of Faith magazine. Through the publishing branch of his ministry, numerous books by Rev. Hagin, his son, and several other authors, as well as audio teaching tapes and CDs, have been circulated worldwide. In 1974, he founded RHEMA Bible Training Center USA, and other training centers have since opened worldwide. Until shortly before his death in 2003, Rev.
